Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Class with Norman Beard
Norman Beard has been growing exotic fruit since the 1970's in Goleta on
his five acre parcel. The farm has over 200 different kinds of fruit
trees and plants that include 30 species of baby bananas, blueberries,
nine species of sapotes, eight species of guavas, avocado, cherimoyas,
Draggon Fruit, stonefruit, citrus, nut trees, and many more.
Past-President of the California Rare Fruit Growers (CRFG), Norman will
share his tips and answer questions to help you choose and grow the
perfect fruit trees for Santa Barbara!

Norman Beard
Norman Beard has been growing exotic fruit on his Goleta farm for over 30
years. He has been active in the California Rare Fruit Growers (CRFG) for
many years, was President of the organization two years, and Chairman of
the local Ventura/Santa Barbara chapter for many years. The Beard nursery
supplies many local gardens with very rare plants upon request, and his
farm is available for tours by appointment.
