Oct 8 - Earth Care Fair in Los Angeles (Westchester area). This fair
will
showcase a diversity of urban environmental solutions, from each petal
of
David Holmgren's Permaculture Flower. Greener vehicles, greener
homes,
organic gardening, environmentally-conscious parenting, renewable
power,
wildlife conservation, greenhouse gas issues, and much more. Exhibits
will
feature neighborhood resources and accessible solutions. There will
be
entertainment, food and fun for adults and children -
environmentally-minded
people of all ages.
Joanne Poyourow, author of Legacy: A Story of Hope for a Time of
Environmental Crisis, will be the keynote speaker. Her work
encourages
urban mainstreamers to visualize and step into a future which
people
familiar with David Holmgren's work will recognize: a world of
energy
descent; lifestyles using Permaculture principles to guide us; lives
lived
in deeper connection with the cycles of the earth.
