Regional Conservation Guide Release -
The Regional Conservation Guide, one of the primary reasons CCP was formed
in 1995, will be released September 12th, 2005 (CCP will be giving a
presentation at the Faulkner Gallery on September 12th at 6:30 - details
below).  The guide will serve the community by identifying and mapping
ecological characteristics of the landscape, then synthesizing these
characteristics to identify areas of priority for conservation in our
region.  This information will lead towards more efficient and informed
decisions towards protecting important natural areas in our region.  Please
contact Conception Coast Project for more information about this exciting
conservation document(ccp@conceptioncoast.org) or more information can be
viewed at our website www.conceptioncoast.org.

Faulkner Gallery Presentation - (6:30, 40 E Anapamu Street)
Conception Coast Project will be presenting the Regional Conservation Guide
at the Faulkner Gallery located in the Santa Barbara Public Library (40 East
Anapamu Street).  The presentation will run from 6:30 until 7:30.  CCP staff
will answer questions from after this period.  The presentation will cover
the results of the Guide and how it will aid in local conservation.

Mountain Lion Database Online -
Conception Coast Project's online mountain lion database is available for
the community.  This online database will allow our community to identify
where mountain lions have been spotted (sightings, tracks, scat, etc.) in
the Conception Coast Region.  Mountain lions are a keystone specie which are
important for identifying critical habitat for conservation planning.  The
database can be found here
http://www.conceptioncoast.org/projects_mountain_lion.html - click on the
input information to submit sightings.  This citizen science will be
collected and aid in Conception Coast Project's future conservation planning
efforts to identify critical areas for preservation.
