Hello,
We at HopeDance (www.hopedance.org) are doing a special issue on FOOD and we
thought it would be cool to discover who is doing FOOD FORESTS, EDIBLE
LANDSCAPES OR PERENNIAL GARDENS and to answer some questions for a survey.
Please send this in soon. Feb 1 is the due date for the survey. The issue
comes out March 1 for the March/April issue.

QUESTIONS:
Remember: your answers will provide an interesting jumping off point to
hopefully inspire others to either join the effort or to run away and return
to the "old fashioned" way.

2. If you believe you have a food forest (according to the definitions given
in permaculture or sustainable landscaping books), describe your food forest
briefly.
3. How long did it take you or is taking you?
4. What is the size?
5. What are you producing?
6. Are you in an urban, suburban or rural setting?
7. How much maintenance do you do as compared to other forms of gardening?
8. What is your ratio of fruit trees to veggies?
9. What is the percentage of self-seeding veggies to hand planted (or
scattered seeds) veggies?
10. Do you have goats, ducks, chickens, rats, mice, cats, horses, cows, dogs
on your piece of property?
11. What is the ratio/percentage of food you harvest to the food you eat from
other sources (ie, the store)? 1%, 10%, 80% Have you ever figured it out
before this survey?
12. Are you the "owner" of this property?
13. What periodicals and/or books have you found helpful in your pursuit in
food foresting?
14. Please tell us any other pertinent information that you care to tell us
that might assist in educating people about "food forests."

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO HAS A FOOD FOREST.
