SANTA BARBARA ORGANIC GARDEN CLUB PRESENTS FREE TALK ON "WATER: THE
NEW GOLD" BY LOCAL PERMACULTURE EXPERT WESLEY ROE
Just in time for the rainy season, the Santa Barbara Organic Garden Club
will present a free talk, "Water: The New Gold" on Wednesday,
October 17 at 7 p.m. at the Community Environmental Council Gildea Center
at 930 Miramonte Drive in Santa Barbara.
The speaker will be Wesley Roe, one of the organizers of the South Coast
Permaculture Guild. As water is becoming an ever-scarcer and
ever-more-expensive resource in Southern California, Wes will teach us
how to take advantage of the winter rains to provide for next summer's
garden. An expert on water-catchment systems, Wes believes that
sustainable home gardening will require creative new solutions.
The Santa Barbara Organic Club had its first meeting on July 12, 2000 and
presents monthly local events and activities on topics of interest to
gardeners weaning themselves from chemical pesticides, herbicides and
fertilizers.
