Join Gary Duncan, founder of Smart Shelter Network, as he takes you on a
visual tour of southwestern Colorado where the highest concentration of
alternative & natural building structures can be found anywhere in the
country.
Spend the evening viewing exciting examples of natural building design
methods, including strawbale, cob, adobe, Earthships, sustainable remodels,
retrofits, and more. Learn about unique issues of finance, insurance, and
permitting of alternative design structures. A special look at ENVIRONMENTAL
ILLNESS caused by toxic building materials.
Gary Duncan has 35 years of building experience, forming the Smart Shelter
Network in Southwest Colorado, after experiencing an illness caused from
years of working with toxic building materials and observing the
unsustainability of his profession. He has cataloged & documented natural
buildings over the past 6 years with more than 3000 slides.
Gary will also lead a special half-day workshop
“Creating a Natural Building Network for Your Area” in Santa Barbara on
