Last chance to join us this coming December in Kenya for a special Permaculture Design Course offering with teacher Warren Brush from Quail Springs Permaculture and True Nature Design!  We have a few spaces still available for international students to be a part of this unique course at Nyumbani Village outside of Nairobi.

Nyumbani Village is a place that offers so much to the local people by taking in, housing, feeding and training orphaned children and elders of people who have died from HIV related illnesses in one of the poorest districts in Kenya.  If you are interested in or currently working in International Development, this course will give you hands-on experience in the theory and application of Permaculture.

Nyumbani Village is an ecovillage that was started in 2005 to provide a supportive community for 1,000 HIV/AIDS orphans to live, grow, learn important life skills and eventually reintegrate back into their home communities as successful Kenyan leaders.  The Village practices permaculture principles to integrate homes, vegetable gardens, forestry, animal husbandry, water harvesting catchments and conservation, waste recycling to build soils, schools and polytechnics, income generating and social activities in a natural environment of 1,000 acres.  Nyumbani Village is also an important employment, education, health, and social center to residents from the surrounding community (www.nyumbani.org/village_need.htm).
