This book documents the rise of a new sophistication, depth, and diversity in the approaches and thinking of permaculture designers and practitioners. Understanding nature can do more than improve how we grow, make, or consume things; it can also teach us how to cooperate, make decisions, and arrive at good solutions.
As Hemenway demonstrates in The Permaculture City, urban permaculture is about much more than gardening in the city. Permaculture’s ethics lead us on a path to ecologically and socially sound decisions. Its principles encourage us to think like an ecosystem: solution-based and enhancing diversity, resilience, productivity, and interconnectedness while encouraging the lean use of resources.
Toby will be giving a presentation and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
