I'm passing along information for a NELA Town Hall on energy efficiency and job creation within LADWP. LADWP currently has a pre-apprenticeship program that is a career pathway into the union through the expanding field of energy efficiency work. The RePower LA coalition is leading a campaign to expand these job opportunities while at the same time saving customers money through efficiency measures.

The Town Hall is this Wednesday, May 9th from 6:00 - 8:00pm (dinner served) at the Los Angeles Conservation Corps' Northeast LA site, 1400 N. Spring Street, LA 90012.

Councilmember Ed Reyes will be in attendance along with LAANE, LA Conservation Corps and LADWP representatives and apprenticeship trainees in order to gain a deeper understanding of the RePower campaign and how we can get involved.
