Time Bank Garden Group Food Forestry Workshop Saturday November 19th
Come learn about and work on installing a food forest/orchard system that will passively harvest rainwater for irrigation. The workshop will include an overview of permaculture techniques and strategies to:
Design and plant a food forest
Harvest rainwater
Build healthy living topsoil
Also, if there's time and interest, winterizing an existing chicken coop
Date: Saturday November 19th 2011 starting at 9:30 am with a potluck beginning at 1:00 pm
Location: a home in Altadena, address upon RSVP
Bring (if you have):
- Gloves
- Sunscreen / Hat
- Water bottle
- Food or drink for the potluck
- Plate and eating utensils (for a low waste event)
The following items are also needed. If you can bring any of these items, please include the type of item and the quantity that you can bring in your RSVP: shovels, wheelbarrows, extra pairs of gloves, leaf rakes, metal rakes, loopers, pruning shears, tin snips for chicken coop repair, flattened cardboard boxes
