It Takes a Village to Transition a Lawn
A community project to transform a 3000 sq/ft lawn into a Learning Garden
North East Los Angeles Transition invites you to participate in "It Takes a Village to
Transition a Lawn", the transformation of an existing 3000 sq/ft lawn
into a diverse, natural garden which conserves water, attracts birds and
insects with a design based on natural ecosystems. This garden will be a place to hold workshops in the future. This transformation
will take place at Throop Church in Pasadena on the weekends of October
8-9, and October 22-23.
It is a great opportunity to learn from experienced
permaculturists and landscaper designers about planting a fruit and nut
tree guild, drought tolerant planting, herb garden establishment, water
harvesting, swale building and community building. Bring a shovel and
gloves.
Participation is FREE!
Spread the word!
Please help us make sure we have enough people participating as there will be plenty of work to do. Even if you can't make it, Invite your friends on Facebook or forward this email.
