Join us at a Natural Building Work/Party
Gain hands-on experience helping with natural building projects.
Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm
Aug. 13 & 14, 2011 and Aug. 20 & 21, 2011
at the Black Range Lodge in Kingston, NM.
Projects include: Straw-bale, Cob and stone wall construction, earthen floor installation, natural clay plasters, working with wood. Learn about passive solar design, solar cooking, rainwater harvesting and composting toilets.
Workshop leaders are natural builders from Austin, Texas: Frank Meyer, Sara Schmidt, Brad King and Aaron Ralls. Plus Derek Roff and Catherine Wanek, co-directors of Builders Without Borders, and Asher Gelbart of Green Energy Now. The Black Range Lodge has been a center for straw-bale and natural building information since 1995.
The work/party fee (including lunch and handouts) is:
$60 / day individual -- $90 / weekend
$90 / day couple -- $150/ weekend
Registration is limited to 25.
Proceeds will benefit Builders Without Borders, a non-profit organization.
Free camping in the Gila National Forest, or stay at the Black Range Lodge.
