The South Central Farmers (SCF) were the subjects of the 2009 Academy Award-nominated documentary, "The Garden" ( http://www.thegardenmovie.com/trailer ), which documents their 3-year struggle to save the largest community urban farm in the US from being bulldozed. Their story made headlines around the country, and internationally in 2006 and galvanized LA for months.

Community, friends, encampers, and other supporters will gather to continue the 5 year struggle to restore the South Central Farm through Art, Love, and Inspiration.

SCF is a 501(c)3 non-profit that enables organic farm cooperatives, educates and donates to the underprivileged in inner city communities.

WHY:
The KNBC Channel 4 Interview and the Los Angeles Times championed the Farmers 5-year campaign to regain the 14-acre property for 300 garden plots and a community multi-use center. The Visioning Art Vigil is a community show of support for the restoration of the farm.
