Yo, Sean beat me to it! I didn't offer intro to permaculture 'cause it wasn't on your request list - seemed like you wanted more
hands-on kind of stuff. If you're up for lecture format that opens up a whole other bunch of possibilities. I also have an obnoxious collection of dvds to work into movie lecture discussion formats. Let's play! I want to come to the rainwater harvesting workshop (let's do it SOON please before we get much more rain - January is too late!) I'd love to do some hands-on gardening stuff. Sheet mulching and how to plan and plant. How to start seedlings, planning and planting for container gardens. Would love to hook up with some of the Ant Farm (collective house on Ave. 53 in Highland Park) and do some trellis building
from found materials (that would be their part) and planting vines. I'll get you some more specifics shortly. Love, Joan "There is one, and only one, solution, and we have almost no time to try it. We must turn all our resources to repairing the natural world, and train all our young people to help. They want to. We need to give them this last chance to create forests, soils, clean waters, clean energies, secure communities, stable regions, and to know how to do it from hands-on experience" "...the greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter." - Bill Mollison

Nice one ! Our Victorian affords a whole lotta roof surface to channel into rain barrels ! January is great, we are wide open ! Just let us know what date, type up the text, our shopping list & we'll make a poster & begin the promoting process.
November 1st, resident artist Charlene Boehne joined our creative collective, she is now our in house Publicist, ( she is also a grant writer*) who works for a PR firm called http://greengalactic.com. Charlene can get us some good press as long as I have at least a one month lead time, I'd love to do a Total Independence series touching on creative solar power installation as
well as
conservation & food production. We are very interested in setting up
Bicycle generators to power our events & appliances.
Thank you for your interest & I look forward to discussing all the positive possibilities with you when you are good & ready.
Please pass the word*

Hey Charon
I'd be interested in teaching a Rainwater Harvesting and Intro to PC starting in Jan at your site. Let me know how you'd like to proceed. Thanks
Sean

Our eye catching community creative space is looking to host some permaculture work shops, lectures & classes in coming months...
Points of interest are building Rocket Stoves, out door kitchens & any sort of creative gardening or independence oriented teachings.... we invite you to charge for these classes & we will have to afford you the price of the materials*
This is our new sight, not much my way of photos yet, but you will be able to get the gist of what we are up to....
FWI, we also have a live/work space becoming available in December/Jan to a handy person that plays well with others&*
