Update Westside Permaculture Gathering Heather Flores: Workshop and Hoe-down
Heather Flores, author of the acclaimed book, "Food Not Lawns" will be joining us on Tuesday October 14th at 7pm, not 6pm as previously mentioned. You can still come by at 6pm, we can share a little food and perhaps have a pre-meeting for half an hour where anyone can bring up issues or topics of interest.
Starting at 7pm Heather Flores will lead us in the first step in tearing out that resource consuming lawn and putting in a productive edible garden.
Following the mini-workshop, Heather and her band the Underscore Orkestra will play some tunes for us. We'll get to cut loose, share food, and enjoy the night under the evening stars. Does anyone know what phase the moon will be that night?
We will be seeking donations for Heather and her Band. Sliding scale donation of $5-$15, or food for potluck, but no one is turned away for lack of funds. .
The address for the event is 1923 Euclid St, Santa Monica, CA 90404 on the north side of Pico. Looking forward to seeing you together at our next gathering.

Update: Date Change Garden Planting Party & BBQ Galore Come on out Saturday, October 18th at 10am for some hands on planting fun. Build swales and other rainwater harvesting earthworks, sheet mulch a garden, plant some veggies and trees, build an herb spiral and so much more. Permablitz an urban home and learn how you can do the same where you live too.
We will have the BBQ going so bring food you would like to grill as well as any other potluck food or drink.
There will be fun for the whole family!! Music, food, fun and games all while cultivating a garden. Suggested Donations of $5-$15 to raise money for permaculture related projects in our communities!
We are also looking for any extra help for this event. Would anyone like to be in charge of food, music or lead a planting crew? Please email westsidepermies@gmail.com
This will take place at the same home as the Heather Flores workshop. We will design the garden with Heather and implement the design on this day. There will be an update on the address as the event draws near.
