Oktoberfest: Permie-style
Greetings!
October, what a great month. Weather is cooling, skies are getting a bit clearer, and fall gardens are getting planted. Your all invited to join in.
We finished the cob bench!! Your gonna have to check it out. Give it a few weeks to dry though.
We have an exciting change with our next Westside Permaculture Gathering. This month we will meet at a beautiful site in Santa Monica and celebrate Oktoberfest with all of you and a very special guest Heather Flores, author of Food Not Lawns.
That following Sunday, we will return to the same site to install a rain harvesting permaculture garden, with sheet mulching, tree planting, an herb spiral, drip line irrigation and more. Great chance to get some real hands on time in the garden.
Keep on reading.

Permiefest Bench takes shape The Cob bench that was started by the community at the Permaculture Festival at Santa Monica Community College was finished the other day with the help of Ray Cirino and a fantastic crew from a SMC art class.
This project has been magical from the start. Everything came together in a free flowing way. Have you ever asked for something and then it appeared? That's how its been with this bench. A new world has been manifested in the shape of a gecko on the Santa Monica College campus at 1744 Pearl St. Come on by, sit back, relax and soak up the rays of the warming sun.
Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this bench happen.

We will be seeking donations for Heather and her Band. Sliding scale donation of $5-$15, or food for potluck, but no one is turned away for lack of funds. .
