Join us for the continuing adventure of our fall discussion series!

We have invited groups of people with very different goals but sometimes similar strategies to come talk with us about "Soft Boundaries". There are many different interpretations of this term, and we'll be exploring almost all of them!

Next Tuesday, Will Wright (AIA) leads a spirited discussion of the potential of various organizations to transform public space in LA. A variety of procedures and techniques will be discussed in our ongoing attempt to survey and chart concepts for how small groups can affect big changes in the use and usefulness of space to communities.

Speakers will include but not limited to:
Viviana Franco - Lot to Spot
Michael Parker - Routes & Methods
Michael Woo - FarmLab & USC

This event takes place within the current environment Density Fields. If you have not seen it at night, it's awesome, come soak it in and participate in this evening discussion.

Bundle up! Its going to be coldish! Bring a mug we will have hot tea, and of course beer from New Belgian Brewery.

Something Wicked This Way Comes?

M&A is embarking on a new exploration of it's community, we need your help, do you have a great picture of M&A or an interesting anecdote? We are looking for fuel for our magazine, our website, and just to keep us going. We hope that some of you will find this invitation exciting and perhaps find some time to send us a sweet nothing.

For more information about the lecture series check out the webpage and get a jump on the emails.

Let's Build Something Beautiful!
Materials & Applications *

* M&A is an experimental architecture and landscape research center with a unique outdoor exhibit space that is designed to be visible from the street. Twice yearly, the site hosts new outdoor installations. We encourage use of sustainable resources, renewable energy and smart technologies used in an artful way to push new and underused ideas for landscape and architecture into view.

M&A is a project of Community Partners, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dependent upon your donations. Please donate here to help us keep great programs alive at M&A. (make sure you select "Materials & Applications" as the target of your donation)
