The Wed March 16th 7 pm meeting of the Permaculture Guild of Santa Barbara will address the topic of "Is Everything Sustainable I Want to Do Illegal?" It will be a round table discussion of local laws and codes relating to sustainability. We'll share experiences and information on the rules for raising poultry and other animals, putting in front yard veggie gardens, beekeeping, managing trees, green building and much more.
To make this a good discussion, we're hoping that some folks will find out what the codes are in their area - Goleta, SB, Carpinteria, SB County - and share that with us so we get the facts on what's legal and what's not -- and so we begin to understand what local codes need to be changed!
Can you please email me at
lbuzzell@aol.com if you can attend and share any info with us on the rules in your area?
The meeting will take place at the Watershed Resource Center at Arroyo Burro beach.

"...the greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter."
~ Bill Mollison, co-creator of the Permaculture concept
