The Shock Doctrine – The Rise of Disaster
Capitalism
“Klein is a sharp cultural critic and flawless storyteller. Her analysis
is thorough and thoroughly engaging.” Newsweek.com
The award-winning author of the best-seller No Logo, Naomi Klein
coined the term “disaster capitalism” to describe the economic
exploitation of communities who, still reeling from catastrophe, lose
their land to aggressive corporate makeovers. In her new book, The
Shock Doctrine, Klein argues that the disaster capitalism complex now
exists as a booming economy, and is the violent culmination of a radical
economic project that has been incubating for 50 years.
