Workshop: VEGETABLE OIL CAR CONVERSION & SMALL-BATCH
BIODIESEL
Saturday, March 30, 2002 10:00-6:00
@ CELLspace, 633 Florida St., San Francisco (19th & Florida, 1 blk W
of Bryant--rear entrance!)
$25-50, Sliding Scale
DO YOUR PART FOR GLOBAL WARMING!!!!
The U.S. spends 60-80 billion dollars a year defending oil interests in
the gulf region. Every year, U.S. businesses throw away enough
waste vegetable oil to replace 10% of the petroleum products consumed in
the country.
Be a part of the solution. Drive your car on a renewable resource:
vegetable oil.
While an ordinary diesel engine can run on biodiesel (vegetable oil that
has been processed with lye & methanol), that same engine can be
converted to use pure filtered vegetable oil with no additional
processing or toxic substances.
Burning vegetable oil or biodiesel in your engine reduces emissions
dramatically & is carbon neutral, in fact more carbon is absorbed in
the process of making vegetable oil than is released from the
tailpipe!
Come learn how it s done from leaders in the sustainability movement,
Capra J'neva of the Permaculture Institute of Northern California,
Kingsley Chen of EcoEnergies, Scott Beckett of Caritas
Creek & SPECIAL GUEST: Girl Mark of DIY Skillshare teaching
biodiesel making! During the course we will do a hands-on
conversion of a Toyota truck from start to finish, learn to make small
batches of biodiesel, and get the facts about alternative fuel emissions
and viability.
